Some of Our Achievements and Awards

In November 2019, some of the pupils of Shelter Don Bosco participated in an inter-school street play competition organized and held at St Theresa’s Institute of Education, Santacruz. The theme was ‘Recycling to make a difference’. The boys picked up the second prize in the competition and the first prize in audience entertainment.

On March 05, 2020 some of the Shelter Boys participated in an art exhibit cum painting competition for children from Shelter homes, titled ‘An Aussie Dream’.
The exhibit displayed photographs of different locations in Australia clicked by Dr. Batra of the leading homeopathic healthcare brand, Dr. Batra’s and the boys were encouraged to recreate any photograph of their choice on a poster sized paper. ​
One of the boys Shelter Don Bosco, Wadala, named Joseph Cabral, aged 13yrs won the first prize for his landscape painting. He was awarded by the hands of Dr. Batra himself and Mr. Ameya Dabli who is a trained classical and light music exponent of high repute.

A few boys from Shelter Don Bosco were shortlisted and given the rare opportunity to sing and perform with DJ Shaan, India’s #1 Most Followed DJ and the first Indian DJ to play at the prestigious ‘Tomorrowland’. They performed a cover of A.R. Rahman’s ‘Vande Mataram’ to a crowd of nearly 3OOO college students at the Pillai Allegria College Fest kickstarting DJ Shaan’s India tour of 20 concerts in 20 locations in the year 2020.



Satyadev Bahadur of Shelter Don Bosco scored 79.20% in the SSC Board Exams of March 2020.
He is hopeful to get into engineering after completing HSC and has already begun studies of XI Science on his own despite his admission in a college still pending.


The Department of Women and Children Development (DWCD) organizes a Sports Festival called ‘Bal Mahotsav’ every year around December every year. In Bal Mahotsav of Dec 2019, Shelter Don Bosco added several feathers to their cap by winning in practically all categories both team and individual. The medal tally is as follows: Individual category: 5 golds, 6 silvers, 4 bronze. Team: 1 st prize trophy in three events.
